What the extra $20 on Merchant buys

Not more exports. Merchant gets the same 100 a month that Maker does. What you are buying is the right to make money from what you make: sell the printed objects, sell or upload the files, and earn from them on any platform.

And it does not evaporate when you stop paying. Every design you license while Merchant is active keeps those rights for life. Cancel next year and you can still be selling the clicker you licensed this week.

About the queue

Free exports are queued. It is usually fifteen to thirty seconds. If you fire off a lot of them back to back, the wait grows, and it settles down again once you slow down. It is there so one person cannot tie up the machine that everybody else is waiting for.

Every paid plan skips the queue entirely. Exports are instant.

A plan is always cheaper than credits

Maker works out at $0.10 an export. The very best credit rate anybody can reach, on the biggest bundle with a plan, is $0.167. We would rather tell you that than let you find it out afterwards: credits are for topping up, not for replacing a plan.

Your monthly allowance is always spent first

The allowance expires at the end of the month. Credits never do. So we spend the one with the deadline, and your credits sit there until you need them. Any other order would burn something you paid for while something free went unused.

A credit buys an export. Your plan decides what you may do with it

Credits are not a licence. With no plan, or on Maker, an export is for personal use. On Merchant it is commercial, whether it came from your allowance or from credits. Buying credits never downgrades your rights.

Credits never expire, and they are not refundable

They have no cash value. Once bought they sit in your account until you use them, for as long as that takes.

Designs licensed while your plan is active keep their commercial rights for life.

Make a clicker on Merchant, sell it, and then cancel a year later. You may go on printing and selling that design forever. You do not have to pay us for the rest of your life to keep selling something you already licensed.

What the subscription buys is the right to license new designs. What you already licensed is yours.

And subscriptions are what keep the site running: the server, the bandwidth, fixing what breaks, improving the studios you already use, and building the next ones.

Every export carries a MinterMark: a signed record of the tool, the version, the date and the licence. It is recorded on our system, so the licence behind a file can be confirmed when it needs to be, without us handing over anything secret.
