Licence
Last updated 13 July 2026
Designs licensed while your plan is active keep their commercial rights for life. Cancelling does not take away a right you already had. A subscription buys the right to license new designs; it is not rent on the ones you already licensed.
The three things you might want to do
1. Print it for yourself
Any plan, including Free. Print it, keep it, give it away. Files exported on the free grant carry a small MM engraved on the underside.
2. Sell the printed object
Merchant. Print two hundred of them and sell them at a market, on Etsy, or out of the back of a car. The licence attaches to the design when you export it, and it does not expire.
3. Sell or share the FILE
Merchant plus the Digital Seller Rights add on. Selling an STL is not the same thing as selling a print, and neither is uploading it to a model platform for points or rewards. You explicitly license each design for digital distribution, and once you have, that design keeps the right forever.
Every file can be checked
Each export carries a MinterMark: a signed record of the studio, its version, the date and the licence, stored in our database and written into the file.
It is recorded on our system, so the licence behind a file can be confirmed when it needs to be, which is a good thing if you are the one who paid for it, for example if a marketplace is deciding whether your listing is legitimate.
Your artwork is still your problem
A Mesh Minter licence covers what we generated. It does not give you the right to use somebody else's logo, character or photograph. If you put a football club's badge on a clicker and sell it, no plan we sell will help you.
Common questions
Can I sell prints I make with Mesh Minter?
Yes, on the Merchant plan. Designs you export while Merchant is active keep their commercial rights for life, even if you cancel later.
Can I sell the STL or 3MF files?
Only with the Digital Seller Rights add on, and only for designs you explicitly license for digital distribution.
Can I upload my design to MakerWorld or Printables?
That is digital distribution, and it needs the Digital Seller Rights add on, whether or not you are paid in money. Points, rewards and credits count.
What happens to my licences if I cancel?
Nothing. Every design you licensed while your plan was active stays licensed, for life. You just cannot license new ones until you subscribe again.
What is the MM mark on the underside?
It marks a file exported on the free grant. Free files are for personal use only, and the mark makes that visible. Paid exports do not carry it.
